Synopsis
Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs) are small Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs) designed specifically for short-duration missions in hostile environments in which stealthy operations are required. MAVs typically have a maximum dimension of 15 cm and weigh less than 90g as suggested
by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in 1995. Since the inception of MAVs, they have attracted attention for both military and civil applications globally. In the seminar, we will be presenting different applications and design approaches to these kinds of vehicles, briefly touching upon the Aerodynamic Shape optimization method used to optimize the aerodynamic efficiency of delta wings for Micro Air Vehicles.
